Our History

Dante Bonapace was born in 1935 in the small village of Pinzolo in Northern Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1958. After gaining a wide variety of job experiences in different fields Dante decided to partner with a friend who grew up in the neighbouring town of Carisolo. In 1961 Dante and his partner opened a knife service here in Ottawa Ontario. In 1998 he decided to go venture out on his own and began Capital Cutlery West.

Dante greatly enjoys servicing and interacting with the people in his community. Since 1961 Dante has worked to create quality service for his customers and along with his family look forward to continuing to provide for his customers in the community for years to come.

Knife Rental

Our company provide knife rental service for commercial kitchens on a weekly, bi-weekly or 4 week rental periods.

Repair Services

We provide repair services for a variety of equipments like, meat slicers, meat band saws, meat grinders & general purpose mixers between others.

Sharpening Services

We also provide residential knives sharpenning services, kitchen knives, as well as gardening tools and lawn mower blades.

Commercial Kitchen Equipment

We sell commercial kitchen equipment (meat slicers, mixers}, knife racks, etc.

Our Services Overview

The cost of knife rental is $3.00 per knife. Our driver comes and exchanges the dull knives for clean, sharp ones.

We provide loaners to our clients free of charge while we service their equipment.

For sharpening services, bring your knives and blades at our location.
